Saturday & Sunday
August 29 & 30
10 AM - 6 PM
Class Size Max: 4
Prerequisite: Intro to Wet Plate or equivalent knowledge of the wet plate collodion process
Given its extremely low sensitivity to light, the wet plate collodion process has historically called for long exposures in order to yield a proper image. With the advent of modern strobe-based lighting, exposures can now be made instantaneously, opening a new range of creative possibility.
This workshop will give wet plate practitioners the skills and information necessary to utilize strobe lighting in their practice. Participants will learn about options on the new and used market for strobes and light modifiers suitable to the process that are powerful yet economical. Basic portrait and still life lighting techniques will be covered. Cameras, chemicals and lighting will be provided.
$50 materials fee included in tuition
If your desired tuition option is unavailable, please email info@penumbrafoundation.org and we will do our best to accommodate you. If the entire class is sold out, we can add you to the waitlist.
