Penumbra Foundation is pleased to present Turm und Taxis, a solo exhibition by renowned Dutch artist Witho Worms. A conceptual and material departure from his previous industrial studies, Turm und Taxis offers a profound mediation of the cooling towers in Germany and England, reframing these giants of the coal-fired and nuclear era as symbols of a new, data-driven world order.

About the artist
Witho Worms lives and works in Amsterdam. His work explores the entanglement of culture and nature, drawing on his background in Cultural Anthropology. Through landscape photography, he examines how human concepts, language, and infrastructures shape the environments we inhabit — and how these environments, in turn, shape us. His recent projects focus on energy landscapes and large-scale industrial structures as markers of a shifting reality.
