School Tours and Group Demonstrations
Penumbra offers tintype demonstrations and facility tours for educational institutions of all levels. Students will explore the history of the wet plate collodion process, from its 19th-century origins to its contemporary use. Penumbra's Tintype Studio Photographer, Sam Dole, will give a live demonstration, creating tintype portraits of participating students (high-resolution scans and physical plates provided). Sam will also give a private tour of Penumbra's facilities, including darkrooms, our one of kind north-light studio, scanning/digitization stations, and a library which hosts a rare collection of historical manuals and photo books.
Maximum of 25 participants
Cost: $750 per group
The 2.5 hour program requires two weeks' notice
