Class Size Max: 6

William Walker James Nicol’s first formulations for the Kallitype process were released in 1889 and have spawned many artist-based variations. Often used as a cost effective alternative to the platinum print, this developing out process produces subtle split and mono tones, ranging from reds, purples, and blues. Through demonstrations and hands-on learning, this workshop will allow students to explore the creative potential of the kallitype process and gain a comprehensive understanding of the reactions that yield unique variations within the technique.

This course welcomes artists of all skill levels, offering the opportunity to bring your own negatives or digital files for printing.

Tuition includes a $75 material fee

If your desired tuition option is unavailable, please email info@penumbrafoundation.org and we will do our best to accommodate you. If the entire class is sold out, we can add you to the waitlist.
