Open Studios is a unique opportunity to try out our facility and a range of equipment and work on any personal projects in our professional studio space.

Highlight is an authentic north-light studio located on the top floor of Penumbra Foundation. It is built to optimal specifications established in the 1850s, beloved by photography icons Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. The space has a sloped, north-facing wall of non-UV-coated windows, allowing for continuous soft light throughout the day.

• Sessions are half-day time slots: There are two available morning slots (10:30am - 12:30pm) and two available afternoon slots (1:30-3:30pm) just reserved for Student or Educator members. Sessions include required setup and breakdown time.

• Individuals must bring their own cameras. See the list of available equipment below.

• Sessions are self-guided, but our Studio Manager will be on hand to answer questions about the space and materials.

• Members can bring up to 3 models or guests. Please include the number and names of plus-ones on the booking form for check-in.
