June 8 & 9

10 AM - 6 PM

Class Size Max: 10

Location: EUREKA Kingston (specific details provided after registration)

This workshop is offered to those interested in exploring the potential of photographic images in book form. Through individual exercises and in group critique format, the class will engage with each participant’s body of work in an attempt to discover – in the editing and sequencing process – where the photographs begin resisting the photographer's preconceived ideas, and to elicit their own “narrative”, which can become an organizing principle for a successful photobook.

Participants are welcome to work with a set of 30-80 images pertaining to what they envision as a single project, either of their own work or an archive they have been engaging with. Please come prepared with a set of small prints (approximately 5x7’’, high quality not essential).

This workshop is a part of the Summer 2024: Penumbra Workshops in the Hudson Valley programming and will not take place at Penumbra Foundation.

If your desired tuition option is unavailable, please email info@penumbrafoundation.org and we will do our best to accommodate you. If the entire class is sold out, we can add you to the waitlist.
