Saturday & Sunday
November 15 & 16
10 AM - 6 PM
Class Size Max: 6
Have you ever wondered about the possibility of making photographs on unconventional surfaces? This weekend workshop introduces two processes capable of producing richly detailed images on glass and metal: collodio chloride and dry plate.
Collodio chloride is a versatile process that yields stable, warm-toned positive prints with fine detail. Dry plate, a silver gelatin emulsion and precursor to modern film, can be used to create negatives in camera or positive prints.
Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to prepare glass and metal surfaces, create and print digital negatives, and make photographic images using both camera and printing techniques. By the end of the workshop, students will leave with a collection of unique photographic objects and a solid foundation for further experimentation with these historically rich and flexible processes.
Please note: this workshop focuses on printing on glass and metal only; paper will not be used.
Tuition includes a $90 materials fee
If your desired tuition option is unavailable, please email info@penumbrafoundation.org and we will do our best to accommodate you. If the entire class is sold out, we can add you to the waitlist.
