10 AM - 6 PM

Class Size Max: 4

Learn how to make your own black and white silver gelatin prints in this one day workshop!

In this hands-on class, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of black and white silver gelatin printing. Topics will include: scale, contrast, tone, paper selection, archival practices. Beginner and intermediate students will learn all the components of the enlarger and how to effectively make contact sheets and enlargements in the darkroom. By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with multiple prints and the foundational skills to make silver gelatin prints on their own.

Tuition includes RC paper. Students are required to bring their own 35mm or medium format black and white negatives to print. No experience in the darkroom is necessary. This class is a great follow up to Developing 35mm film.

Tuition includes a $60 materials fee.

If your desired tuition option is unavailable, please email info@penumbrafoundation.org and we will do our best to accommodate you. If the entire class is sold out, we can add you to the waitlist.
