About Highlight Studios

Highlight is Manhattan’s only true north-light photography studio, located on the top floor of Penumbra Foundation. It is one of the many facilities that Penumbra members have discounted access to. Built to optimal specifications established in the 1850s, the space has a sloped, north-facing wall of non-UV-coated windows, allowing for continuous soft light throughout the day.

How do I sign up?

• Complete the registration form below and stop by anytime between 10:30am-3:30pm. Bring a camera and a friend and test out a range of equipment*.

Do I have to be a member to participate in Open Studios?

• OS is a free event for both members and non-members. However, priority bookings are reserved for Penumbra Student & Educator members. For access to priority booking for future Open Studios, become a Student or Educator Member.
