Course Overview

Adobe Photoshop is a robust photo editing software with unlimited creative options to produce beautiful imagery. It may seem intimidating at first but this introductory course will focus on simple ways of navigating the software and developing best practices for image enhancements. Topics will include workspaces, non-destructive editing techniques, tonal adjustments, basic layer and retouching strategies, and file formats. Each week, students will be given assignments intended to reinforce the lesson covered in class, which will be reviewed in the following class. At the end of this course, students should feel more confident using the tools in Photoshop for creative and engaging images.
