This workshop will take a look at the history, theory, and practice of the camera obscura, with an emphasis on the technical relationship between camera-making and image formation. Together we will make a freestanding functional camera on Penumbra's rooftop and use that camera to create and process paper negative prints to take home.

Students are encouraged to bring cameras to document their experience.
